Estee Lauder Private Sale!!

Happy Saturday!!!

Plan for today…. Shopping shopping and shopping!! XDDDD
Plan made becoz……. I received an invitation card from my fd, it’s Estee Lauder Private Sale!!! He couldn’t go coz he’s on duty for both days~~ So………… I get to go for him!!! XDDDDD

 Just happens that a few things from my cosmetics box have ran out / gonna run out, so my shopping list for the day are: Conceler, Foundation, 2 way cake, eyelash glue~

The sale starts at 10:30am…. We PLANNED to go by 11:00am… so the best stuff doesn’t get sold out be4 we get there. HOWEVER……. By the time I got up…. It was 11:00am~~ XDDDD HA!! Plans are made to guide urself, not necessary to follow, rite? =W=+

 Dress code for today>> casual…. ish, not stuffy, easy and convenient.



Arrived at the hotel at around 1:30pm~ Then…………………

Queue!!!! 

Jesus!!! I’ve never though a private sale by invitation would hv so many ppl!! This is only the outside part



After the outside area, there’s a room especially for queuing, thank god they hv some chairs…… = =!! However, the air-con was definitely not strong enough.



OK, finally, our turn to go in………. but, when we got to the front…….. the door closed…….. SH*T!!!! Honestly, it was 3:00pm by then, feeling slightly depressed when the door shut before me……. But, thank god again, only took abt 10~15 mins, we got to go in!!

Then…….. becoz the bypass of ppl, within the hall, you can still get to grab what u want pretty easily within a kind of small(ish) area like that.

Just……… really……… the queuing again to pay was pretty annoying……….. 1st, u hv to let the staff check all ur items and sum up the amount, so u don’t buy more than HK$ 3,000. Finally u pay by cash or EPS.

There are rules for this sale, you do not buy more than 3 of the same item, and the quota per invitation card was HK$3,000 only (1 invitation card was for 2 ppl btw).





At the end, mine was HK$3,080 , just slightly over quota!~ XDDDD




I actually forgot about the quota after randomly picking things to buy for myself and my mum~~(she complaints I gave Mochi’s mum a bottle of SK-II) = =!!

Anyway, this is when I got for today…….




Looks pretty amazing how much I buy rite? This, all together, HK$3,080!!!

They're not all for my own use, some for friends, some for my mum, some for my sis~~ (mum said she got a bf now, buying loads of expensive clothing and cosmetics products ~~XDDDD)

BTW, also went across to Uniqlo to look at the Monster Hunter t-shirts. I didn’t play the game, but the cat is cute~~ So, went to hv a look………… Humm…………..

Really, I don’t want to be too obvious that Im wearing a MH tee, so, chose 2 more pattern based t-shirts.

 

(one ear of my cat cell case fell off~XDDDD excuse me for that) 




One thing I have to say is………. a T-shirt for HK$129 with a good quality is no big deal. Just………. U don’t put signs next to the T-shirts that are not on sale to mislead ppl.

I saw basically in most places of the store where they hv t-shirts on display, “HK$129 for two”. Guess what, the sign was also shown next to the MH t-shirts too. Only when I got to the cashier, after queuing again, I realised that they are asking me to pay more than HK$129, and I asked, the cashier then told me, those are not on sale.

Like I said, Im fine with it, just what if the ppl are not? Think abt this, a boy come to puy 2 MH t-shirts, mother agreeded, coz its cheap. Then get to cashier, mother disagree…. How disappointed would that be?! Come on!! Selling is not like this alright?! = =+

Wish big companies like them won't do things like this = =" 

Duckie Duckie

Well..... Following the trend............

Went to see this duck, the week be4~~ It's now sinked(?) leaked(?) I think~~



Have to say....... It's pretty ugly~~XDDDD From far and even some pics, it might look very cute, but actually, it's got wrinckles all over it, like the news said the wind the rain's causing the duck a little damage~~~

I didn't went to see the duck....... I just happened to have to go into Harbor City....... Hell, the amount of ppl!! Jeasus!!! Also it was saturday~ Q^Q

Really, I hate going to Harbor City for its decorations....... however beautiful it looks, the effort having to puish my way through the sea of ppl......... I'd rather not go......... = =!!!!
For dinner that night, went to Pokka Cafe The Grand~





First of all......... I made a super big trouble for the waitress when going into my seat.........
The tables were too close to each other!! My bag spillt the water on the next table, also, when I tried to sit down, I broke my plate by pulling the table cloth accidently........ SUPER EMBRASSING!!! >/////<

Felt like leaving that restaurant at once!! Q_Q 

Anyway, we didn't, my fd sat down calmly and pretent nothing happened...... OTZ!!! So sorry Vincent......

As usual~~ The food~~~~

Er.......... Bread served........... Alone.............. WTH?!

I guess it was supposed to come with the soup, but it came toooo soon, i took my time eating it(cos it was warm, dont wanna waste it), still, the soup came long while after I finished the bread........



Right~~~! Soup~~ It was served like this:

1) The waitress put this massive bowl/plate on your table.

2) The waitress came to your table with a jar in her hand... the soup was poured into the plate.....



Ummmmmmm.........................

It was quite funny when seeing it served like this, but, wasn't hot, just a warm soup.........also, it means the soup was not fresh from the kitchen........even I knew its not done when order, it really doesn't feel good when seeing the jar put aside for a long while before another table has made their order. = =!!! It reminds me that...... we just did the same.....

Taste...... Vegetable soup...... slightly less salty than canned soup, but other than that, I think it is just soup....... don't know whatelse to comment..... 

Anyway, next came the starter~~ Caviar with scallop~~~

It was.... warm..... and cold........ = =!!! dodgy..........

Starter I guess wasn't suupposed to taste brilliant, but......I think u can say it is refreshing, the scallop was also quite nice, soft and doesn't hv the horrible fishy taste. At the same time...... it really just taste of cucumber, carrots, caviar and scallop........ The sauce was just there looking pretty.......



Main course....... I ordered lamb of coz~~~

See the risotto my fd ordered?? I rather I had that. Honestly......... I paid this amount of money for this quality of food? I'd rather go to the private kitchens. Hard, warm(again), random meat taste...... 

I'm pretty concern with the temperature with food...... It doesn't have to be boiling hot, but at least not served at a temperature as if it has been set aside and forgotten for a while. ="= 


The only promising dish....... dessert........




The 2 white lumps on the plate was pudding, it was pretty soft, very milky, but not too sweet,  also like tofu~! The mousse......... Well, if even a mousse can't be good, I think this restaurant I will not go again.........

Overall...... Can't make a sure commnet of it to be good or not. I might go again to see if I order something else, would it be better........ Cos at a restaurant like this, it really can't be that........ average......... = =!!!

Been pretty lazy recently, I think must be the whether~~~~ XDDDDD
I really cant express how much I hate this whether..... humid, hot, sticky. Urgh!!!!
My house  is always wet, and with my dog's hair........ God help me.......Q^Q

So.... the latest movie~~~

Ironman 3...... talk about it maybe in another blog, coz everyone is talking abt it~~~ Kinnda nothing much to say for me~~ =P 

Actually, I went to see "The Host".

Cast~~
 
Well, I hv to say it really suprised me of how good it actually was~ I hadn't got much hope of this to be brilliant when walked into the cinema.  First, the cast is not any super famous stars.... Story is kindda random love.....again.....(I hv never been into love movies)

BUT, that was my impression before watching it, when I came out, Wow~~~ I like this movie!
Well.... I think the writer has put more thought into it than twilight...... The whole backgroup was pretty fresh. Normally, when aliens take over human world, they tends to take over everything their way, or, just distroy. 

This, is different, they adapt to humans, I think this is a very new thought for aliens, then came the main character, Melaine. At 1st  I though, this is a story how Mel fight back the alien who took over her body(Wanda) and take back in control.... boring.... but, again.....nope! Different approach. This is about how Wanda lives with Melaine inside her, and find her own path. Whether to fit in to the aliens' society(the aliens were named Souls), or to find the remining humans. Sometimes you can even see Wanda taking her own steps and not blindly listening to Mel, the balance of Wanda being her and do what Mel tells her to do was just right. Both Mel and Wanda's character was vivid. 

The Most impressive scene... I think must be the field inside the cave. The colour tone, was so soft, so gentle....... After seeing rocks rocks, dessert, rocks, caves........ I think it was a scene where audiences can take a deep breath and relax slightly from then tense the whole film I think was building....

Casts........ only had 2 characters I had to talk about!!!

First, Emily Browning~

 

Have to say........ I remember her because I preferred her to be blond...... Baby Doll!!!
I watched Sucker Punch a long time ago, I like her character~~ Blond girl, good fighter, brave~~ However, here....... I think they really have pulled down her beautiful side................@_@

BTW, if u guys don't know Baby Doll, here's another character played by her you must know....... The elder sister of  Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events!!
Isn't it quite fun to find a character you knew from long ago, now grew up and acting another character? XDDDDD
 
Another familar face....... Jake Abel!!



His character was Ian, one of the remaining humans who hated Souls. However, after a while (story story), he begain the grew to love Wanda.....blah blah blah.......

Main Point........... HE WAS MICHEAL'S VESSEL IN SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!!!
ADAM WINCHESTER!!!!

 

Im sorry, big fan of Supernatural here~~~ 

Didn't like Adam's character, but Jake was quite cute~~XDDDD But my favourite was still Dean~~~

After 3 years, Jake in The Host~~~ Woow~~~~ Not Bad!!! 

Im more into guys looking slightly vicissitudes..... (?) 

HA~ anyway, The Host was a good film, the love...... I think can't really make me feel the way they do, but the story, the scenes, the emotions other than love was pretty good!~~~~ 

Namkee~~

Went to see a fd in Central and hv dinner~~

Think becoz we don't know where abt are the good but not too expensive restaurants, we randomlywent into Namkee.

Just incase u dont know, this is the Namkee I'm talking abt~~

My impression of this noodle place is only word of mouth from some fds, they all said the fishballs are great~~ so, went for a try~~~



As u can see, I didn't orderfishball, but I stole one from my fd. Ummmm.... how to say, it is very chewy, but I prefer fishballs with a chewy outside as well. The outside was a little soft, as pretty easy to bit into, also I liked the way the texture is smooth, but I don't think the fish taste was enough~~

Within my bow, I ordered cuttlefish balls. I though it was at average standard~ Also very chewy, but still lacking of the seafood taste(?) 

Soybean milk......... average standard, but not too sweet, good for ppl on diet~

Noodles..... just noodles......... but, they have this!! 



There is a small bag of sauerkraut given to u as a set, mixing it with the noodle was actually quite nice! This is really the only part I liked.......... = =!!!
 
My fd really liked it, she said maybe becoz I hv never been really into these type of food, so they all taste the same to me. And guess what? I actually agree XDDDDD

Anyway, price was fair, coz everything nowdays are expensive, for a portion like this, I think was Okay. You can can go and give it a try =P

Katie Ying King Ting, Exhibition - "Honey"

Its been quite long since I last went to see an exhibition....

One of my close fds in design school hosted her first personal exhibition last night at wanchai! So we went to support her of coz! >///////<

Hahaha~~~ First thing we saw~~~
Almost impossible to miss Katie's style of painting~~ Not to mention there's a mural of her deer and rabbit~>W<






cHave to say, this mural helps a lot when come to find that gallery, cos it's actually a little bit hidden at the back street.

The painting wasn't actually that brightly coloured, my camera made it look like this =____=
Anyway, this one, the longer you look at it, the longer u want to be in it. The stillness of the world inside that painting is ever so fascinating....



This is Katie's signature deer~XD All the time in sch she was painting deers one after another.




This one, also, it suppose to be a little brighter >< I'm soooo sorry, my camera sucks I know.......
It is actually called warmth, don't you think it is sooooo sweet? >/////////<



Like said in the top, Katie's painting can be pure and can be dark...... this is one of her dark collection~~ =P It isn't the most brilliant one, the reason I took it becoz I hv seen parts of her process in painting this. She started off painting this in school, the trigger was a fancy dressed old lady in the MTR.(If I haddn't remember wrong)
It is named, "Last train" Anybody realised that, most ppl in it a leggless? 



Anyway, just be4 we leave, the usual leaving message~~>W< (two of my old sch-mates~ =P)




Then, as expected, Katie needed to hv dinner and celebrate with her show partners. So, we went for dinner at the Jap restaurant nearby~~


To be honest, the food are not expensive according to its quality, I though it was worth it!! Here are what we had~~~

Salmon Tofu, Tofu was very creamy~~ At average standard, but hv to say, the wasabi was hand grinded!! Quite liked that, not too "spicy" but still hv the strong taste.


Super nice Sweet corn!!!! Highly recommended. The sweet corn itself was juicy, cooked at just the right level for eating, not too dry / hard. Everybody like to have their sweet corn covered with butter, and so do I. Just, I don't like the butter to be so oily and dripping off the sweet corn. This was covered with butter, but only the taste, you see no sign of the oily butter on it at all! It was great!! Hate getting the juicy(oil?) everywhere~! XDDDD 


Avocado sofuto sheru Maki~ 
Like! >W< The  sofuto sheru was nicely done, not too oily like all fried food~ the fried flour wasn't thick!! Hate eating a mouth full of fried flour...........


Salmon with mango sushi~~
Mango was sweet~>W< my favourite, but the best thing was that, the salmon was fresh, also it was rather thickly cut!>///////<



Beef~~~>W< Very juicy, very soft!! Nicely done!! >V<b


Lamb! >v< Not bad~ the taste was good~ Liked that daigo taste~! Just I dunno was it becoz I ate it a little while after it was put on table, it was a little hard to bit into for some parts




Finally Our lovely sashimi~~ Thick slices, fresh! Super nice!!!>//////<
Just we though the portion was a little small~~ =P
There are 2 shrimp heads right? Normally ppl think it is for decoration, but then a fd asked the waitress to fry them for us..... Then, I took a bit, it was also very tasty!!! Guys, do remember to do it!!>//////< Such a waiste not to hv it!!!XDDDD

3D Oz The Great and Powerful

Lovely Saturdays are normally used for relaxing urself~~~~
Relaxing are normally shopping, eating and watching movies~XDDDD

So, went to watch 3D Oz The Great and Powerful, Ummmmmmm I didn't really want to watch it at first, becoz its all the same story over and over again, but mochi choose it, so OK..... let's watch it~~=W=+ 

(will talk abt how story goes, if u hvn't want it and don't wanna know, do not read on~>.<)

Not going to talk much about the characters, i think everyone knows about them pretty well~~~ 

Starting off, film was bnw, the monitor was narrow~~ This was done like the 1939 The wizard of Oz, showing that the world they live in was sad, boring, black and white~~

 After they got to Oz, the monitor opened up wide, things turned in colour. In Oz, eyerything is bright and new, lots of different things to see and to looking forward to.

At first, I never thought Theodora was that wicked wich of the west~ Since, most stories from I saw never really give out her name, she was only known as the witch? Or hv I not seen enough?

Anyway, amazing at how she turned after hving an apple from Evanora (wicked witch of the East), this really supprised me at how the image of witches came from~~ the pointy hat and the broom. Also, I do think she is a sad character, all becoz she has never been loved, so simply fall for Oz's romance trap, then turned into a green witch(?) becoz of broken heart. 

Ungrateful man makes a wicked witch..... rite? 

Sooooooo true! XDDDD Guys, learn from it~~

Actually, Glinda's character in this film was quite different to what I though she was. As the good witch of the South, I have always rememered her to be very kind, gental, etc. Now, not that she isn't kind and gental, but she was made to be a little more cheeky~~ =P I quite liked that little change~~~~

 Finally, Evanora~~ Actually, I quite like her in this film~~ =P I think she was the most beautiful in the 3 witches. Somehow I think she was clever, just lack of a little knowledge and that lost her the kingdom ogf Oz~~~

 

There were some other characters such as the flying monkey and the chino doll~~ But, u know them all, not much character change~~ XDDDDD

Overall, movie wasn't bad~ Something to see for relaxing was fine~~ =P Just don't have toooo much of an expectation~~~

Anyway, after the film , went for a little shopping.... most of my shoes are getting old and falling apart........ = =!!!

And, this is what I got~~

Its actually pretty high, but the platform at the front helped a lot, it is quite comfortable~~ =P
Also I recently quite liked things in brown and pink~~ =P Looks like strawberry chocolate~!! >/////<

 

Finally, went to hv dinner in DIF, a restaurant in MK Ladies market~~~ It was recommended by many fds of mine~~~

Starter~~~ Soup and garlic bread~~~

I loved that soup!!! Super creamy and just thick enough for a soup, not toooo thick like gue~~ >//////< Very good start~~!! 

I do think the way they serve the garlic bread was funny~~ its like a fusion between chinese and forien food~~ =P

 

This is what I ordered, Fish Fillet with Crab Roe and ham in Pumpkin sauce.

I don't really know how it started, I never like pumpkin when I was little..... then I grew up to like it very much!! =0=" And same as cucumber!!  I have to say, they got our food on the table fast~~ I think its becoz it was already 10:00pm by the time we ordered?? =P

It was nice, very creamy~~(i like creamy stuff, a lot!) The ham was in between the fillet, so fillet was not just fish fish~~~ Ham helped in adding flavour~~ =P Personally I don't like hving fish alone~~~~

And, I do think many HK ppl like Spaghetti soft..... but I never do, I like them al dente~~~

DIF did it quite well~~ >W< (or are them in a rush to close so no time to cook longer?)

   

Mochi ordered this lamb with reed wine sauce........ Um......... It was surely un-cooked. You can tell from the photo right? Its pretty red inside. Almost bleeds a bit.........

I though it was beef, so though it was normal, then mochi said he had stomach ach........ =0=" The sauce was nice, well, fair enough for a restaurant in ladies market. Didn't taste anything red wine, but it was nice to hv something different from normal garlic or pepper sauce.

 

Finally our tea~~~~ Um........ Normal hot chocolate~~ 

Then got very into playing puzzle and dragon~~ =P
