Comix Salon

One lovely Saturday afternoon, (XDDD) It was my fd's birthday in a few days' time~~ =P So we went out for lunch just before her lessons at night~~ ==" Students now are just ever so busy~!!

We chose a fast food restaurant which serves only large pieces of pizza that is just outside of Wanchai MTR station~~ It was honestly huge!! Took me a while to finish that~~XDDDD

My blog is not abt the pizza this time~~ =P But one funny thing did happen~~

I was sitting at a table facing the window, then I saw a suspicious tramp looking at us outside obviously hoping for something..... =0=" I looked away, little nervous really~~ then he came into the restaurant, and asked the people next to us to give him some food! =0="

@_@ I've never seen tramps do that before~! Normally restaurants do not allow tramps to get into their places~~ Not that he only asked for fod, he did point at things he liked~!! WTF......... That was something I hv not seen be4, slightly shocked at the same time~ ="= Do all tramps do that now??

Anyway, it was still early when we finished lunch, so had a little wonder round different shops in Wanchai. Then, we saw this~!!

Cos we were both very into comic~~~ It is so surprising to see a place like that~! @/////@

This building is a historical building that is under conservation, they hv interior that you will not find today~

There's an exhibition area that was not supposed to be opened~ but we didn't know~XDDDD

We were thinking why is this place a mess~~~XDDDD

Apart from the antique-ish(?) internal structure, there're also some modern stylish structure. More pics~~~

This is the back side of the building~~~

Anyway, back into the building~~ Ground floor is a few shops related to toys & comics (mostly are local comic artists), and a Vango round the corner~ XDDDDD

See that in the middle? there's a TV showing slides about the building and artists in the building. There's some fliers for u to look at while going round the building~~~

Within the building, there's one cartoon character that is all round the building~~~

See that little black cloud on top of the building guide? >W< Cute right?

  Since we wanted to go round the whole building, we took the lift to the top (4th floor) and worked our way down~~ Within the lift, there's a little TV showing video clips abt local artists~~

Seriously, this lift's soundproofing was soooooo perfectly done~!! @@ when the lift door shut, we couldn't hear a word from inside~! The 2 of us were so amazed~XDDDDD

Starting from the 4th floor~~ Skywalk and exhibition area~~ 

Since the exhibition has just passed, there're not really much to see, so we went outside. The balcony pics were taken there~~ >W<

They have a TV room(?) for showing clips about the building's historic background and the renewal construction work like 1881. I think it was on the 4th floor~~XDDDD slightly mixing up what I saw round the building~~~

After watching for a while and taking photos...XDDDD We went down a floor through stairs~~

The first thing we found very exciting was this~~

Isn't it soooo cute!!! Typography of the floor numbers were specially designed with that cartoon character on it~ >W< Then we begin the realized that it is everywhere!!>///////<

We only saw this sign after we went into the exhibition area that is still in decoration process. =P

They even designed the signs in toilets~~! =///0///=

To be fair, I rarely see exhibition centers for comics that are decorated in so much detail in HK~!! You can feel how much the designers have put into this place~~! That is so rare!! Art has never been something that the general public would pay attention to, especially comics~~ Q^Q"

Although u can tell it is not well known, not many visitors also. It is so moving to see this place~!! 

Anyway, down to the 2nd floor, it is artists' studios and the actual comix salon itself~ It is actually a comic library~~~

I think most of the comics were donated~ By the look of it, they're all well kept second hand~~>W<

I hv never seen so many local comics be4~!! @///0///@

This place is made for comic lovers!~

Lastly, the first floor was a restaurant, unfortunately we were sooooo full, we'll come for an afternoon tea next time~~ Then I'll show u guys a report~~ >W<
